In software engineering, a design pattern is a general repeatable solution to a commonly occurring problem in software design. A design pattern isn't a finished design that can be transformed directly into code. It is a description or template for how to solve a problem that can be used in many different situations.

Ruby Module Reference

This tutorial is intended to get you started using MicroPython on the ESP8266 SoC.

The tutorial does not assume that you know Python, but it also does not attempt to explain any of the details of the Python language. Instead it provides you with commands that are ready to run, and hopes that you will gain a bit of Python knowledge along the way. To learn more about Python itself please refer to https://www.python.org.

Flask is a lightweight WSGI web application framework. It is designed to make getting started quick and easy, with the ability to scale up to complex applications. It began as a simple wrapper around Werkzeug and Jinja and has become one of the most popular Python web application frameworks.

Flask offers suggestions, but doesn't enforce any dependencies or project layout. It is up to the developer to choose the tools and libraries they want to use. There are many extensions provided by the community that make adding new functionality easy.

A-Frame is a web framework for building virtual reality (VR) experiences. A-Frame is based on top of HTML, making it simple to get started. But A-Frame is not just a 3D scene graph or a markup language; the core is a powerful entity-component framework that provides a declarative, extensible, and composable structure to three.js.

A-Frame supports most VR headsets such as Vive, Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, Daydream, GearVR, Cardboard, Oculus Go, and can even be used for augmented reality. Although A-Frame supports the whole spectrum, A-Frame aims to define fully immersive interactive VR experiences that go beyond basic 360° content, making full use of positional tracking and controllers.

Three.js is a lightweight cross-browser JavaScript library/API used to create and display animated 3D computer graphics on a Web browser. Three.js scripts may be used in conjunction with the HTML5 canvas element, SVG or WebGL.

Three.js allows the creation of GPU-accelerated 3D animations using the JavaScript language as part of a website without relying on proprietary browser plugins. This is possible thanks to the advent of WebGL.

High-level libraries such as Three.js or GLGE, SceneJS, PhiloGL, or a number of other libraries make it possible to author complex 3D computer animations that display in the browser without the effort required for a traditional standalone application or a plugin.

AR.js is a lightweight library for Augmented Reality on the Web, coming with features like Image Tracking, Location based AR and Marker tracking.

Augmented Reality is the technology that makes possible to add overlayed content on the real world. It can be provided for several type of devices: handleheld (like mobile phones), headsets, desktop displays, and so on.

For handleheld devices (more in general, for video-see-through devices) the 'reality' is captured from one or more cameras and then shown on the device display, adding some kind of content on top of it.

For developers, to develop Augmented Reality ('AR' from now on) on the Web, means to void all the Mobile app developement efforts and costs related to App stores (validation, time to publish). It also means to re-use well known technologies like Javascript, HTML and CSS, known from a lot of developers and possibly designers.

It basically means that is possible to release every new version instantly, fix bugs or release new features in near real-time, opening a lot of pratical possibilities.

For users, it means to reach an AR experience just visiting a website. As QR Codes are now widespread, it's also possible to scan a QR Code and reach the URL without even type. Addictionally, users do not have to reserve storage space on their download the AR app, and do not have to keep it updated.

Django is a high-level Python Web framework that encourages rapid development and clean, pragmatic design. Built by experienced developers, it takes care of much of the hassle of Web development, so you can focus on writing your app without needing to reinvent the wheel. It’s free and open source.

Express is a minimal and flexible Node.js web application framework that provides a robust set of features for web and mobile applications.

Vue is a JavaScript progressive framework for building user interfaces. Unlike other monolithic frameworks, Vue is designed from the ground up to be incrementally adoptable. The core library is focused on the view layer only, and is easy to pick up and integrate with other libraries or existing projects. On the other hand, Vue is also perfectly capable of powering sophisticated Single-Page Applications when used in combination with modern tooling and supporting libraries.

MongoDB is a general purpose, document-based, distributed database built for modern application developers and for the cloud era.

Rails is an MVC web development framework that leverages the Ruby language and its perks to address productivity and development speed for developers. It’s one of the most used web frameworks, according to SimilarTech it’s powering over 2 million websites, including some of the biggest names like Airbnb, GitHub, and CodeAcademy. Rails is a versatile framework, it could be used as a complete server with powerful template rendering or it could be consumed as a RESTful API. It supports both options right out of the box. Rails also integrate well with frontend frameworks, especially React.
